EVENT DESCRIPTION
In honor of Veteran’s Day, join NPower in our work to support our military veterans by connecting with other professionals in small group discussions and sharing written experiences and advice for the next generation of veterans entering the technology field .
In this event, you will learn more about NPower and how we are working to engage veterans to launch their careers in tech, more specifically, how we are expanding opportunities for military veterans and their spouses to upskill, access and thrive in middle- and high-income tech positions, and how you can partner with us in this movement.
As part of the celebration, you will also participate in small group discussions with other volunteers, where you will provide written answers to questions and discussion prompts that we will later share with our NPower Veteran trainees as they navigate major milestones within our program. Your responses will serve as additional support to our trainees on their journey.

About NPower

Mission Statement
NPower creates pathways to economic prosperity by launching digital careers for military veterans and young adults from under-represented communities.
Description
We focus on two populations that experience barriers to employment - low-income veterans and young adults (ages 18-26) - and give them the support, skills, and industry-recognized certification needed to fill in-demand tech jobs. We offer our program free of charge to those who need us most - men and women earning less than 200% of the federal poverty level - and they primarily come from racial and socioeconomic backgrounds underrepresented in the tech industry. Our work addresses some of the biggest challenges of our times: racial inequities in access to education and opportunity, rampant unemployment, and lack of diversity in the tech workforce.
Founded in 2000, NPower has grown to operate in various markets across the country: New York, New Jersey, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, Michigan, Missouri, Texas, and California.
