About
Founded by Janina Peter and Malish James, Bridging Gaps introduced a pay-it-forward community microloan model to address food security and poverty among refugees. By merging charity and microfinance, we empower entrepreneurs and create sustainable financial structures. Our digital platform secures donations from Europe and the global north, transforming them into microloans that ripple through the community. Unlike traditional repayable microloans, our model is based on a pay-it-forward approach. As businesses thrive, loans are passed on to new entrepreneurs in the same community, creating a sustainable ripple effect of new initiatives and, long-term, new independent financial structures. Donors receive continuous updates on the impactful stories of the entrepreneurs they support through our digital platform, fostering a sense of connection and engagement with the community. This innovative approach not only addresses immediate needs but also promotes lasting, self-sustaining initiatives. We are looking for a passionate and experienced individual to join our team as the Volunteer Podcast Manager. This role provides a unique opportunity to significantly contribute to our mission while developing your professional skills in launching and managing a podcast, including content strategy, outreach, and production across various platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a podcast concept from scratch, including defining the podcast’s name, target audience, and overall theme.
- Identify and secure interviewees relevant to Bridging Gaps’ mission and values, including thought leaders, partners, and experts.
- Plan and structure episodes, including defining the format, frequency, and duration of each episode.
- Create engaging interview questions that align with the podcast’s mission and resonate with the audience.
- Research and select podcast platforms, ensuring wide accessibility and distribution.
- Lead outreach efforts to promote the podcast, including social media, email campaigns, and partnerships.
- Coordinate production logistics, from scheduling interviews to overseeing the recording, editing, and publishing process.
- Ensure high-quality audio and a polished final product by working with editors or handling post-production.
- Monitor and analyze listener feedback and engagement, using data to adjust future episodes and grow the podcast’s audience.
- Collaborate closely with our marketing team to align the podcast with the overall marketing strategy.
Requirements:
- Experience in podcast creation, content production, or a related field.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong interest in storytelling and creating engaging, mission-driven content.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
- Passion for social impact and a commitment to Bridging Gaps' mission.
- Prior experience working in an international environment, demonstrating adaptability and cultural sensitivity.
- High level of integrity and dependability.
