TESOL Teacher Needed (volunteer opportunity with students in Haiti). The Faculté de Travail Social et de Justice Sociale (FTSJS)/ College of Social Work and Social Justice - one of very few social work programs in Haiti - has a strong four-year program in English. Learning English is very important to Haitian students, most of whom are already bilingual with French and Haitian Creole, as it expands their job opportunities tremendously. Because of the Pandemic and increased violence in the country, the program is currently online. English courses are 45 hours per semester, generally 3 hours per week, more at the discretion of the professor. Dr. Miranda Phelps, Dean, would appreciate the chance to talk with anyone with TESOL credentials who might be interested. She can be reached at phelpsm036@gmail.com. Please see the website for Education Haiti, the Maine-based non-profit that helps to support the school, to learn more about the program ( https://www.educationhaiti.org).
