Recruiting Organization: Braver Angels

Position Overview: Braver Angels NYC is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Events Chair to join our volunteer team. This role position focuses on planning and overseeing a diverse range of events while also driving community engagement through social activities. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess strong leadership and communication skills, and be passionate about advancing Braver Angels' mission.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Coordination:

• Plan and execute a variety of events, including workshops, seminars, public debates, and movie screenings.
• Oversee all event logistics, including scheduling, venue selection, and communication with attendees.
• Collaborate with the NYC leadership team and partner organizations to ensure successful event delivery.
• Ensure that all events align with Braver Angels' mission and goals.

Social Engagement:

• Organize and host social events, such as happy hours, to build and sustain a vibrant BA community.
• Develop and maintain relationships with existing partners and explore new partnership opportunities.
• Facilitate collaboration with partner organizations to enhance community involvement and support.
• Promote and maintain effective communication with BA NYC members and partners.

Qualifications:

• Being a trained Braver Angels moderator (or willingness to under-go training) is required.
• Strong organizational and leadership abilities with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Enthusiasm for Braver Angels’ mission and a proactive approach to community building.
• Experience in event planning and community organizing is highly desirable.
