The Northwest Railway Museum will be hosting two Santa Train
events: Yuletide Express and Santa Limited this
holiday season. We are looking for volunteers who are great with people to help
us spread holiday cheer! For information and volunteer opportunities, please
see below:
Yuletide Express 25-minute, train schedule. Departs
at 9, 9:45, 10:30 am, 11:15 am, 12:00 pm (noon), 12:45 pm, 1:30 pm, 2:15 pm, 3
pm, 3:45 pm from Snoqualmie Depot. Back to RHC by about 5 pm. Route: Round trip
from Snoqualmie Depot to the Falls. Each child visitor will receive a gift from
Santa.
Santa Limited 2-hour schedule, train ride to the
Railway History Campus. Departs from North Bend Depot at 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM,
11:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 1 PM, 2 PM, & 3 PM. Route: Roundtrip excursion from the
North Bend Depot to the RHC and back. Visitors will stop and see the holiday
decorated Train Shed Exhibit Hall, explore exhibits, visit Santa in the
restored Chapel car, tour a caboose, and each child will receive a small gift.
On the return to North Bend, each ticket holder will receive a cookie to eat
after they head home.
If you would like to help, we are looking for volunteers to
help out as conductor’s assistants on the train, crowd control at Snoqualmie
Depot or at North Bend Depot, Santa helpers, and cookie distributors.
Crowd control If you like helping direct visitors to
where they need to be....join us at the Snoqualmie Depot or at North Bend
Depot. You will be directing visitors to the boarding line and make
sure they have their tickets ready to show the conductor, help answer any
other questions (like where the restrooms are), and help keep people away
from/off of the tracks when the train rolls in!
We are looking for:
Train Crew Volunteers: Car Attendants (7:00 AM through
6:00 PM)*
North Bend Depot Crowd Control (8:30 AM through 6:00
PM)
Railway History Campus Activities' helper (8:30 AM through
6:00 PM)
Hot chocolate server/cookie distributor - at the Railway
History Campus (8:30 AM through 6:00 PM)
Shifts:
8:30 AM until about 5 PM (Snoqualmie Depot)
8:30 AM until 5:30 PM (North Bend Depot)
8:30 AM until 6:00 PM (Railway History Campus)
7:30 AM until 7:00 PM (Train crew)
If you are 16 years old or over, we have conductor's
assistant positions available. No experience required -- just a
willingness to learn and be friendly! Conductor's Assistants need to have an
analog (not digital) watch and the dress code is white blouse, black pants,
black vest or jacket, and close-toed sturdy black shoes. Rain gear and a pair
of leather gloves are also helpful....dress for the weather. Conductor
Assistant shifts begin at 7:30 am at the Railway History Campus on Stone Quarry
Rd. and they are full-day shifts, ending at around 5 pm.
A sack lunch will be provided!

Volunteer shifts are subject to change. Please ensure you
have received your schedule and instructions from the Northwest Railway
Museum's volunteer coordinator prior to your shift.
Please dress for the weather! Volunteers may be volunteering
in old train cars, historic buildings, and/or outside for brief periods. Dress
appropriately to ensure you remain warm and dry for your shift!
