ORGANIZATION: SHROOMATE

This is currently a virtual position but will require the member to be within driving distance of our location in Norristown.

Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to serve as a Board Member for Shroomate. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and successful completion of our Research and Development (R&D) projects. These projects are often funded by grants, and your expertise will ensure that they meet deadlines, stay within budget, and align with Shroomate's strategic goals. This is a unique opportunity to make a long-term impact on an organization dedicated to environmental sustainability and education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Board Member, attending quarterly board meetings and participating in high-level decision-making for the organization
  • Lead and manage R&D projects, particularly those related to grant-funded initiatives
  • Define project goals, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with other board members and stakeholders
  • Oversee project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth execution of projects
  • Monitor project progress, address potential risks, and adjust plans as necessary to stay on track
  • Ensure compliance with grant requirements, including reporting and documentation
  • Collaborate closely with the leadership team to align projects with Shroomate’s overall mission and strategic vision

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 years of project management experience (preferably within a nonprofit, R&D, or grant-funded environment)
  • Proven experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage timelines, budgets, and resources effectively
  • Familiarity with project management tools (such as Asana, Trello, or Monday.com)
  • Experience with grant management, reporting, and compliance is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a commitment to teamwork and transparency
  • Passion for sustainability, research, and environmental advocacy, particularly in the context of mushrooms and natural ecosystems

To build a passionate and committed team, Shroomate is utilizing VolunteerMatch.org, a platform designed to connect nonprofits with individuals eager to contribute their skills and time. Through this platform, Shroomate aims to recruit dedicated volunteers who share its vision, helping to lay a strong foundation for the organization's future endeavors and community impact.
