Would you like to be a part of helping kids while they go through the process of receiving an eye exam? During Mobile Vision Clinic visits in our community, Volunteers help direct families to Registration, walk children to and from the Clinic, explain to patients how to care for their glasses, administer the Youth Experience Survey, and mingle with those waiting for their appointment time. The location of the Mobile Vision Clinic varies, so Volunteers must be able to provide their own transportation. Shifts are generally from 8:30-12:30am and volunteers will be on their feet most of the time.

Mission Statement
To give children the ability to thrive through access to essential vision services.
Description
Eye Thrive serves low-income children in the St. Louis region with essential vision services through a Mobile Vision Clinic and full wraparound care. Guided by organizational values of transformational change, empowerment, compassion, equity and trust, Eye Thrive ensures clear vision for thousands of children every year. Through a free full service process that includes initial vision screenings, comprehensive eye exams onboard the Mobile Vision Clinic, as needed corrective eyewear made on-site and provided the same day, medical referrals for any advanced care needed and replacement glasses, Eye Thrive is removing the barriers to eye care faced by St. Louis families. If a child can’t see they can’t read, if they can’t read they can’t learn, if they can’t learn they can’t thrive. Eye Thrive works to ensure children have the glasses they need, a positive health care experience, and through the Electronic Medical Records system, the confidence to know that someone is monitoring their eye health year after year.
