*This is an ongoing hybrid volunteer opportunity, with some in-person Saturday sessions required. Bachelor's degree required.
If you are passionate about working with low-income high school students and can work well under pressure, this is the role for you! As Summer Programs Team Lead, you will be responsible for managing the summer program application process for a group of ~6 student/mentor teams. Working closely with the Director of Summer Programs, the role helps identify and place students in programs that are aligned with the values of Minds Matter and offer financial assistance.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with students to ensure all questions are answered and applications and financial aid forms are completed on time
- Build collaborative relationships with assigned quads and ensure all applications and financial aid forms are completed on time
- Bring any issues to the attention of the Summer Program Director
Time Commitment:
- Attend weekly team meetings (phone/virtual)
- Attend ~10 Saturday afternoon sessions throughout the year (3 sessions in October, 3 sessions in January, 2 sessions in February, 1 session in March, 1 session in April/May)
Qualifications:
- Excellent flexibility, team management and communication skills
- Extremely organized, with high attention to detail
- Comfortable with Excel, managing budgets and expenses

Minds Matter supports students in their sophomore, junior, and senior year. Our program offers a unique combination of mentoring support, group instruction, and social-emotional learning. We provide students with the resources and guidance needed to gain admission, enroll, and succeed at rigorous four-year colleges. Support continues during college with internships, professional skills-building, and access to our alumni platform.
