LIGHT Movement is looking for individuals to assist in researching and writing grants.

LIGHT is located in Denver, Colorado, but this opportunity is virtual. The number of hours and schedule are flexible.

Previous experience with grant writing is not required. Our Co-Executive Director has more than a decade of experience writing and managing grants and is happy to teach others who are interested in learning the skill. However, individuals should have strong research and/or technical writing skills.

Possible duties of this volunteer position include:

  • Researching new grant opportunities on databases and other resources.
  • Assisting with creating a grants calendar, grants matrix, and grants strategic plan.
  • Writing and submitting letters of inquiry and full proposals.
  • Creating program and grant-specific budgets.
  • Collaborating with potential grant partners.

LIGHT has grants interns, so any volunteers will collaborate with others.

The mission of LIGHT Movement is to provide somatic-based tools and other resources to support people in their grief.

Description

LIGHT Movement was created to remind those experiencing grief that they are not alone.

The organization has four goals:

  1. Remind people they are not alone in their grief
  2. Teach somatic-based tools to support people in growing/integrating/finding purpose from grief
  3. Provide resources and partner with others to support people in their grief.
  4. Stand in solidarity for all people experiencing all types of grief.

LIGHT offers the following programs:
  • Somatic healing classes including yoga, writing, and art
  • Workshops and trainings for professionals and individuals
  • Grief and burnout retreats
  • Events
  • Somatic health education
  • Middle grade educational program (beginning Fall 2025)

  • We would prefer someone who can volunteer 10+ hours per week, but hours and schedule are flexible.
