Service Title: Appreciation Specialist

Who we are looking for:
We're seeking a people-oriented individual who is eager to dive in and make a difference. If you're passionate about helping our donors experience the impact of their generosity through heartfelt thank-you notes, follow-ups, and engaging phone calls, we want to hear from you! Comfort on the phone and neat handwriting are essential for this role. Join us in celebrating the power of giving!
What you will be doing:
In this engaging position, you will:
- Sign daily gift acknowledgment letters (trust us, it’s more enjoyable than it sounds!)
- Make thank-you calls to express gratitude (who doesn’t love spreading positivity?)
- Assist with general administrative tasks to keep things running smoothly
- This is a daily role through January, requiring 2-3 hours per day, 5 days a week.
- Flexibility: Individual volunteers are not required to commit to all 5 days.
- In December, we may need multiple volunteers each day as generosity peaks during the holiday season.
Join us in celebrating kindness and making a meaningful impact!
Why is this job needed or important:
This job is THE MOST IMPORTANT JOB in fundraising. Our donors and volunteers are wonderful. They are the kind of people who care passionately about helping vulnerable youth get the care they need to thrive. This job closes the loop for donors who are trusting us with their heartfelt gifts. Donors who receive prompt gift acknowledgment report feeling a deeper sense of connection, impact, and joy, which inspires them to continue helping reach those in our community who need it most.

Mission Statement
The Idaho Youth Ranch creates promising futures through courageous transformations.
Description
Every child is born full of promise, and every child deserves a promising future.
The Idaho Youth Ranch has been helping good kids on a dangerous path find promising futures for more than 60 years, with youth programs and services through the state.
We offer emergency shelter, residential care, substance abuse treatment, job readiness training, alternative education, adoption services, family counseling, and more for at-risk kids and their struggling parents and families.
No matter what a child is up against, the Idaho Youth Ranch can help.
Every kid who comes to us faces their own unique challenges and issues. So we adapt our services to meet their needs, instead of the other way around. The Idaho Youth Ranch approach is to intervene early, when our help can do the most good; treat the whole child, not just one symptom; and finish the job by sticking with each kid as long as they need us.
Our work would not be possible without generous donations from people like you.
Thanks to our donors and our statewide network of 29 thrift stores, we can help kids and families effectively and immediately even if they can’t afford the entire cost of care.
Whenever you make a cash donation, shop at one of our stores, or donate items we can sell, you become part of our promise to Idaho’s kids. Thank you!
