Recruiting Organization: Chicago URBAN ART RETREAT Center

On September 21 from 1-4p.m., FREE event at the Kedzie Pink Line stop . Event features music, dance, contests for prizes and vendors, underwritten by the city's DCASE and sponsored by the Chicago Urban Art Retreat Center of North Lawndale. The event is headlined by the internationally famous spoken word artist Blaq Ice, who will emcee and perform. DJ Hott will provide the music. The 64th Street Beach Drummers and the Peruvian Dance Troupe are also featured. Teens can win prizes in art and talent contests.

LOOKING FOR a leader to help the day of the event. This leader will rally folks they know and bring them to the site on Sept. 21 to help staff the event. Set up is 10-12:30 and take down is 5-6p.m. We also need volunteers to staff the event itself- security, tableing, selling goods, audience participants.
