Love without Violence, Inc. is seeking a passionate and skilled Volunteer Writer/Grant Writer to help communicate our mission through impactful storytelling and secure funding to support our initiatives. This role involves creating compelling content for our website, social media, and outreach materials, as well as writing and submitting grant proposals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for our mission, a talent for writing, and the ability to convey our message effectively to both donors and the public.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research, draft, and edit grant proposals to secure funding from foundations, corporations, and government sources.
- Collaborate with the executive team to gather information for proposals and reports.
- Create and edit content for newsletters, website copy, press releases, and social media posts to raise awareness about domestic violence and the organization’s impact.
- Assist in maintaining a grant calendar to track application deadlines and reporting requirements.
- Develop impact stories that highlight success stories and the work of Love without Violence, Inc.
- Work closely with the marketing and communications team to align messaging and ensure consistency across platforms.
- Stay updated on grant writing best practices and relevant funding opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to write clear, compelling, and persuasive content.
- Prior experience in grant writing, journalism, content creation, or nonprofit communications is a plus.
- Ability to research and organize data to build compelling cases for funding.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience with fundraising or nonprofit operations is a plus.
