Are you passionate about helping a new nonprofit organization grow and thrive? B.Y.E. (Black, Young, and Empowered) is seeking volunteers to join us in building crucial relationships as a Donor Relations Specialist.

Role and Responsibilities: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate to support our nonprofit in gathering, analyzing, and presenting information that will help achieve our mission. The Research Associate Volunteer will assist with data collection, program evaluation, and research projects that inform our strategic initiatives and advocacy efforts, with a particular focus on the programs we currently offer: the Financial Empowerment Hub, Reading Literacy Enhancement, Holistic Mental Wellness, Performing Arts Empowerment, and Global and Local Community Engagement. This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to contribute to a meaningful cause while developing valuable research skills.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough research on various topics relevant to the nonprofit’s goals, such as funding opportunities, industry trends, program statistics, and best practices in program development.
  • Assist in compiling data and preparing reports, summaries, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with our core programs.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to evaluate the effectiveness of the Financial Empowerment Hub, Reading Literacy Enhancement, Holistic Mental Wellness, Performing Arts Empowerment, and Global and Local Community Engagement programs, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Research and analyze relevant statistics to provide insights that strengthen program outcomes and advocacy efforts.
  • Monitor relevant policies, regulations, and legislation that may impact the nonprofit's work and programmatic focus.
  • Maintain a database of research resources and ensure all information is up-to-date and accessible to the team.
  • Collaborate with program managers and other team members to align research with organizational objectives and programmatic goals.
  • Assist in developing surveys, interviews, and other tools for data collection from beneficiaries, partners, or other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to writing grant proposals and supporting documentation with relevant data and research, especially focused on key program areas.

- Reading Literacy Enhancement Program: Closes the reading literacy gap and promotes Black authors in curriculums.
