Join the Red Cross and use your professional skills to ensure individuals and families have access to essential medical care and health education services during times of disaster. We need dedicated healthcare volunteers year-round to support Red Cross teams responding to local disasters, such as home fires, floods, and wildfires, as well as during larger-scale emergencies. Your expertise can make a difference both in-person and virtually.
Disaster Health Services volunteers may provide support in the following ways:
- Address the unmet disaster-related health needs of impacted individuals, families and communities.
- Provide hands on care within RN-led model.
- Provide health assessments and guidance.
- Provide assistance with replacement of medication, durable medical equipment, glasses, dentures and other medical supplies.
- Support individuals with disabilities and functional and access needs.
- Supplement the community healthcare delivery system, if needed.
Requirements: Active and unencumbered licensure (RN/LPN/LVN/APN, NP, MD, DO, PA, EMT), ability to complete self-paced online training, and strong interpersonal skills.
