ORGANIZATION: Idealist.org

Recruiting Organization: City Elementary

At City Elementary, providing a stellar education for neurodiverse children is our purpose and our passion. Located in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood, City Elementary is tailored to the academic, social, emotional, and sensory needs of children with autism, ADHD, and related forms of neurodiversity. Our students thrive in small classrooms with expert teachers who provide support for attention, regulation, and social connection. They gain learning strategies, self-regulation tools, self-advocacy skills, and confidence, all within a warm, tight-knit school community where their individuality is embraced and celebrated. The impact of this unique learning environment is truly life-changing. Now we’re ready to grow so that many more neurodiverse children can access our transformative learning environment. But we need your help. We’re looking for people who want to leverage their professional skills, expertise, and networks to help the City Elementary Board of Directors navigate an exciting time of strategic growth. We have several opportunities to serve on our Board, our Advisory Board, and our team of ad hoc consultants. If you have a passion for education, for neurodiversity, for social justice, or for community service, we’d love to talk with you!
