SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Associate Director of Education - Professional Shared Services, the Change and Communications Manager is responsible for managing and executing change management activities for project initiatives and managing stakeholder engagement and change transitions. They will work closely with the project team and act as liaisons between key stakeholders across the organization. The Change and Communication Manager takes the initiative to identify opportunities, address performance/process gaps, and communicate any identified or potential risks, issues, and dependencies to the project manager. The Change and Communication Manager is responsible for communicating related issues to the project manager and documenting changes, resistance, change readiness, impact assessment, and surveys.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Capturing change readiness and sustaining change.
  • Identify and analyze stakeholders.
  • Develop an organizational change management plan.
  • Responsible for the change delivery plan and internal communications.
  • Editing and proofreading project communications to the organization.
  • Responsible for developing and managing communication plans.
  • Design surveys and questions for feedback sessions.
  • Facilitates group sessions to capture feedback from stakeholders.
  • Manages conflicts and stakeholder expectations.
  • Managing transitions and reducing resistance to adoption.
  • Develop and oversee a change agent network.
  • Contribute to project status reports.
  • Track work activities and project statuses of ongoing tasks.
  • Attend regular meetings as necessary.
  • Provide project support to project managers and directors as needed.
  • Be willing to attend virtual meetings in the EST timezone (GMT -4:00) and respond to emails within 36 hours.
  • Perform other duties as required.

  • Committed to attending team and ad hoc meetings.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, both internally and externally.
  • Outgoing, persistent, and energetic. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to handle requests and complaints professionally, non-confrontational.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and capacity for innovation.
  • Thrive working collaboratively with STW staff.
  • Enjoy taking initiative, adaptable, and able to work under pressure.

Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, communications, or business administration from a recognized post-secondary institution; education and experience equivalencies may also be considered.

Experience/Requirements:

  • Experience in change management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong editing and proofreading.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Ability to facilitate workshop sessions and meetings with stakeholders.
  • Comfortable learning and using a variety of technical solutions to complete project deliverables.
  • Knowledge of organizational change management theories, techniques, and best practices.
  • Experience using Google product applications or GSuite.

Preferred:

  • A certificate in change management from a recognized education provider.
  • Familiar with JIRA and Confluence
