Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

The Park is looking for motivated individuals that can assist our small staff with basic maintenance and projects. Cumberland Island consists of 35000 acres and several historic/maintained landscapes. There are over 50 miles of trails and numerous historic buildings and ruins that require maintenance.

We are looking for individuals who can assist with carpentry, vehicle maintenance, trail/grounds maintenance, cleaning/painting, and other tasks. Volunteers will be provided housing on the island with access to laundry facilities on the island. Housing may be shared with other volunteers or staff but each volunteer will have their own room and access to a kitchen and bathroom. Volunteers are required to work 30 hours a week to maintain their position and we ask for a one to three month term. Individuals need to be self-motivated and take direction well. Previous training with UTV/ATV is beneficial.

Note: Weather can be extremely warm in the summer. For safety outdoor work may be limited during this time and work may focus more inside including cleaning, painting, etc.
