The lack of understanding of one's self-worth, and inability to express yourself affects your mental health; a path to better mental health is understanding that YES, YOUR VOICE DOES MATTER.
Position Overview: We are seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Founding Board of Directors. As a Founding Board Member, you will play a critical role in the establishment and development of our organization. This is a unique opportunity to shape the strategic direction, governance, and growth of a new nonprofit dedicated to helping people rediscover their worth, embrace their value and reclaim their voice. This is a volunteer position, but the impact of your work will be significant and rewarding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend and actively participate in regular monthly board meetings
- Serve on at least one committee or task force and Contribute to projects, events and objectives of the organization.
- Provide strategic oversight and governance, ensuring the organization’s alignment with its mission and goals.
- Assist in fundraising efforts and support the organization’s financial sustainability.
- Act as an ambassador for the organization, promoting its mission and work within your network.
- Review and approve annual budgets, financial statements, and major organizational decisions.
- Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of L.I.T.E.
- Preferred but not mandatory experience in nonprofit governance, fundraising, or related areas is highly desirable.
- Preferred but not mandatory experience in marketing, networking, grant writing, project development, or social media
- Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Entrepreneurial spirit with a willingness to engage in the development and growth of a new organization.
- Willingness to commit time and resources to the organization’s activities and initiatives.
Time Commitment: Board Members are expected to dedicate on average approximately <10 hours per month, including meeting attendance and participation in committees or task forces.

Live Intentionally Transformed Everyday (L.I.T.E.) started with a vision. We are still in our developmental stages but we still remain confident at the impact that L.I.T.E will have on others. At L.I.T.E. we believe in helping individuals rediscover their worth, embrace their value and reclaim their voice . Having a higher self-esteem is a direct link to better mental health; sending a powerful message to yourself that YOU are important; a necessary step in the journey to improving and transforming one’s life. Our founder, driven by personal experiences and a passion for helping people and community, created L.I.T.E. to not only encourage people to discover or rediscover the value of their voice, but also to offer comprehensive support like housing assistance, job placement, counseling, etc.
