Volunteers for this role should live in or near Central Maryland.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for our mission, strong writing skills, and an understanding of fundraising, event packaging, grant writing. As a Volunteer Development Fundraising Specialist , you will be instrumental in helping us secure the resources needed to continue and expand our work.
In this role, you will join a team of volunteer leaders and help guide IRF’s success. You will work together to identify and execute fundraising goals around Immune Recovery Foundation’s major initiatives and organization’s growth:
IRF fundraising volunteers help raise funds and awareness to support patient services, advocacy, programs and community engagement work. Our volunteers support us in a number of capacities, including social media, public awareness campaigns, fundraising, event planning.

Volunteer Development Fundraising Specialist
Key Responsibilities:
- Proposal Writing : Write and develop compelling letters of inquiry, fundraising proposals, grant proposals, and supporting documents.
- Grant Reporting : Assist in preparing reports for grants, ensuring compliance with funder requirements.
- Collaboration : Work closely with the President, Executive Director, Program Managers, and other team members to gather information and craft accurate, persuasive narratives.
- Database Management : Maintain records of grant submissions, deadlines, and correspondence in our fundraising and grant management systems.
- Outreach : Establish and maintain relationships with grant funders and other potential donors.
Qualifications:
- Writing Skills : Excellent written communication skills with the ability to create clear, structured, and persuasive proposals.
- Research Skills : Ability to conduct thorough research and synthesize information from multiple sources, helpful.
- Attention to Detail : High level of accuracy and attention to detail in writing and editing documents.
- Experience : Previous experience in fundraising, grant writing, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Time Management : Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently.
- Passion : A strong commitment to our mission and values.

Immune Recovery Foundation recognizes the importance of equitable healthcare access and the impact of social determinants of health (SDOH). IRF is culturally sensitive to support diverse community populations and provide programs that are patient focused, and solutions driven.
Our Goals- Improve the health and quality of life of patients by providing navigation assistance to help identify beneficial services such as clinical trials, diagnostic treatment, free or reduced cost prescription drugs support, and medical travel costs aid.
- Work closely and partner with other national patient advocacy organizations, community-based organizations, and medical nonprofits to educate and disseminate information about systemic chronic, rare and life-altering diseases that impact underserved patient communities.
