Description
About Impact100 DC
Impact100 DC is a new, all-volunteer women’s philanthropic organization that collectively funds high-impact grants to nonprofit organizations working to addressing unmet needs in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Impact100 is a national model founded in 2001 with over 50 chapters throughout the US and beyond. One hundred or more women come together, pool yearly membership contributions of $1,000, and award annual, $100,000 grants that allow recipient nonprofits to expand their services in extraordinary ways. Proposals are invited in all of the areas communities must attend to in order to thrive: health and wellness, family, education, arts and culture, and environment. We place a high value on building a diverse membership and leadership team that reflect all corners of this varied community and produce the wide lens necessary for an informed and equitable giving process. Members lead and participate in all aspects of grant review and in doing so develop a more profound understanding of community needs and are empowered as philanthropists and agents of change.
