Position Description and Function:

Take and Make Helpers assemble craft kits designed by library staff. This position is perfect for a volunteer who enjoys crafting and fine-detailed work. The volunteers must be able to use scissors and staplers. The kits may require cutting with scissors, measuring, counting, sorting, packaging, and stapling.

Although a staff liaison is permanently assigned and available for questions and guidance, this role can be completed independently and unsupervised.

Training: One orientation and training session covering library volunteer duties and tasks, including a facility tour, check-in and badging process, and introduction to staff. Craft kit training time for each month’s kit.

Location and Time Commitment: Depending on the craft type, it can take approximately 2 to 6 hours. It can be performed at the library or remotely after picking up materials, with a minimum six-month commitment.
