We need volunteers to help distribute donations of costumes and other items to our participants so they can be ready for Halloween.
Why: The spirit of Halloween is a time for joy, creativity, and excitement for children across the nation. However, for families transitioning from homelessness, the cost of a Halloween costume can be daunting. This October, we invite you to participate in an extraordinary event that will bring smiles, laughter, and magic to children's lives.
Who: L.A. Family Housing (LAFH) works to help families transition out of homelessness and poverty through a continuum of housing enriched with supportive services.
What to Expect: Volunteers will organize, set up, and run our costume giveaway event. Unloading and laying out costumes for the kid participants in our program. Be a personal shopper for our participants.
What's Required:
Must first attend our required 1 hour training
Must show proof of vaccination
Must be over 18
Must be able to lift up to 25lbs and be on your feet the whole time

Mission Statement
L.A. Family Housing (LAFH) works to help families transition out of homelessness and poverty through a continuum of housing enriched with supportive services. Founded in 1983, LAFH served more than 2,500 people living in poverty this past year through its multiple housing and supportive service programs, and has served over 100,000 people since its inception. In total LAFH owns and operates 21 properties, including three homeless shelters and 18 permanent rental properties. LAFH provides temporary housing, including the Sydney Irmas Transitional Living Center, for families who require additional time for achieving sufficient independence to secure permanent housing. These transitional living programs offer: * Six Months to Two Years of Transitional Housing * Food Services * Case Management * Mandatory Savings Program * Full Range of On-Site Supportive Services
