As an administrative hospice volunteer, you would be providing office support for direct patient care of our patients. This could be putting together admission packets, packets of information for patient/caregiver, creating patient/family teaching material, mailings to the bereaved, filing, copying, and other clerical duties. If interested and comfortable, you could brighten someones day by performing "tuck-in" calls to check on the patient and the caregivers.

Mission Statement
Whether you want to see the impact you can make in the lives of patients directly or prefer to work behind the scenes, we invite you to become a member of a dedicated group of compassionate caregivers who serve as vital members of our hospice team. Heart of Hospice is a proud member of the LHC Group family. Hospice volunteers often say that helping those in need at a critical point in their lives is profoundly and emotionally meaningful. Description
Training is provided as part of our volunteer experience. You can make a positive difference by listening and supporting the patient and family, reading or sitting with patient for short periods of time, writing letters, checking on patients and families by telephone, sharing your music with a patient and their family, becoming a Veteran-to-Veteran volunteer, caring for the pets of the patient (walk and play with dogs, etc.), assisting with clerical office tasks and supporting community events, and more.
Hospice volunteers are exceptional people. They donate their time and efforts to provide care and comfort for someone with a life-limiting illness - a labor of love that requires a special person with just the right touch. They have a passion for helping others and make a profound difference in the lives of the patients, families, and communities we are privileged to serve.
