Time Commitment Expectations: On average, 5-7 hours per week

Position Overview: This role is a shared leadership position. The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) Coordinator will work collaboratively alongside another Coordinator to support the Teen Advisory Board’s success. The Coordinator will be responsible for leading and managing a dynamic group of teens dedicated to contributing ideas and perspectives that advance She Became’s mission. Key responsibilities include planning, executing, and evaluating all TAB meetings and activities. This role is instrumental in empowering youth leaders, promoting meaningful teen engagement, and ensuring their active participation in the organization’s initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:Plan and Facilitate Meetings:
Organize and lead Teen Advisory Board meetings every other week, ensuring productive discussions and active participation.
Develop agendas and provide materials in advance to guide discussions on various topics.
Youth Leadership Development:
Mentor and support teen board members in leadership development, providing guidance and resources to enhance their skills.
Empower teens to take initiative and lead various projects/initiatives.
Project Management:
Oversee and manage all TAB projects from conception to completion, ensuring deadlines are met and resources are effectively allocated.
Collaborate with board members to brainstorm and implement programs, events, or campaigns that align with the organization’s goals.
Engage and Motivate Teens:
Build strong relationships with teen members, encouraging their continued participation and growth within the board.
Create an inclusive and welcoming environment that values diverse perspectives.
Outreach and Recruitment:
Assist in recruiting new members to the Teen Advisory Board by working with schools, youth organizations, and other community partners.
Ensure TAB remains reflective of the community’s youth population.
Community Involvement:
Act as a liaison between the Teen Advisory Board and the broader community, identifying opportunities for community involvement and advocacy.
Represent the TAB at organizational events and promote teen-driven initiatives.
Evaluation and Reporting:
Monitor and evaluate the progress of the Teen Advisory Board’s projects and activities.
Provide regular updates and reports on the board’s outcomes and achievements.
Qualifications:
Enthusiastic about She Became’s mission
Able to commit time to board activities and projects
Experienced in people management
Experienced working with children and teens
Skilled in both leading teams and empowering others
Proactive and self-motivated
Eager for a hands-on volunteering role
Excellent communicator
