Help us develop and produce monthly opportunities for residents to learn more about energy savings and take climate action on an individual, local and regional level. This committee meets 1-2 times per month on Zoom. We partner with area organizations to widen the impact of this outreach. MUST BE LOCATED IN YORK COUNTY, MAINE OR NEARBY. 2-5 hours per month.

Mission Statement

York Ready for Climate Action is a grassroots citizen’s organization dedicated to increasing awareness of the causes and effects of climate change and advancing environmentally friendly and inclusive policies and behaviors.

Description

YRCA was formed in May of 2018 by a group of York citizens, frustrated by lack of progress on climate, under the name York Ready for 100%. York Eco Homes and Waste Reduction and Diversion (WRAD) became part of the effort. In 2022, under the name York Ready for Climate Action, we became a 501(c)3 nonprofit.

We are a group of passionate volunteers from around the York community, dedicated to increasing awareness about climate change and making urgent reductions in emissions for the benefit of our community and our planet!
