STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program that specializes in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.
Are you excited about shaping the future of global education? We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our international event planning team for an upcoming Global Education Fair, where we’ll showcase our innovative Medical Science and Engineering Academy to a diverse audience. This is a unique opportunity to gain invaluable experience, work alongside industry experts, and make a significant impact on the educational landscape. By volunteering for 3 months, you’ll help create an engaging and memorable experience for attendees while showcasing the transformative potential of our innovation programming for students ages 7-17. Location: Remote
Time commitment - 6 hours/week
Description: As a Networking Coordinator for STEM Canada, you will be responsible for facilitating virtual networking opportunities during the Global Education Fair. Your role involves organizing and managing breakout rooms, coordinating one-on-one meetings, and ensuring that attendees can effectively connect with schools, education agents, and officials. Your networking skills and organizational abilities will be key in creating a productive and engaging networking environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Organize and manage virtual networking opportunities such as breakout rooms and one-on-one meetings to connect attendees with schools, education agents, and officials.
Schedule and coordinate networking sessions, ensuring all participants have the necessary information and access to join.
Provide assistance to attendees with joining virtual networking sessions, addressing any issues or questions they may have.
Foster meaningful interactions by facilitating introductions and ensuring that networking goals are met.
Work closely with the event management team and other coordinators to integrate networking opportunities into the overall event schedule.
Collect and review feedback from participants to assess the effectiveness of networking opportunities and make improvements for future events.
Requirements:
Strong networking skills with experience in connecting people and facilitating productive interactions.
Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple networking sessions and ensure smooth execution.
Experience in planning and coordinating online events, particularly in managing virtual networking platforms.
Effective communication skills to interact professionally with attendees, schools, and officials.
Ability to address and resolve any issues that arise during networking sessions promptly and effectively.
