To provide Lewis County citizens and businesses with essential tools for proper disposal of solid waste and hazardous waste, waste prevention and waste reduction, recycling and composting through dedication to the environment and excellent service.

Description

Lewis County Solid Waste operates two transfer stations, one in Morton and one in Centralia. We organize, along with our community volunteers, special disposal and recycling events.

REQUIREMENTS

  • This is a Done in a Day opportunity and there is no prior training or ongoing commitment needed.
  • Must be at least 16
  • The event starts at 10 a.m., but we would like volunteers to show up around 9 a.m. to get safety gear and an overview of the event duties and site layout. The event ends at 2 p.m., but we might need volunteers until 2:30 to help with closing.
