Mission Statement

Radical Monarchs creates opportunities for young girls and gender expansive youth of color to form fierce friendships, celebrate their identities and contribute radically to their communities. Through programming and mentorship, we provide youth with the tools, knowledge, and experiences they need to become advocates for positive change.

Description

Radical Monarchs was founded in 2014 and seeks to address the lack of accessible, culturally affirming spaces for girls, young women, and TGNC youth of color to explore their identities and develop leadership skills. Many of our young people come from marginalized communities where opportunities for personal growth and civic engagement are limited.

Our programming centers around a social-justice based badge-earning curriculum. Additionally, we create opportunities for our alumni that have graduated to stay engaged through leadership development programs, career opportunities, learning networks, and alumni socials. With troops and alumni nationally in California, New York, Denver, Minneapolis, and the DMV area, Radical Monarchs aims to inspire youth to develop the skills, knowledge, and networks they need to navigate challenges and to thrive as community leaders.
