ORGANIZATION: Bridging Gaps

General information

Duration: not specified (at least 11 months)

Commitment: 10-20 hours per week

Description:

About

Founded by Janina Peter and Malish James, Bridging Gaps introduced a pay-it-forward community microloan model to address food security and poverty among refugees. By merging charity and microfinance, we empower entrepreneurs and create sustainable financial structures. Our digital platform secures donations from Europe and the global north, transforming them into microloans that ripple through the community. Unlike traditional repayable microloans, our model is based on a pay-it-forward approach. As businesses thrive, loans are passed on to new entrepreneurs in the same community, creating a sustainable ripple effect of new initiatives and, long-term, new independent financial structures. Donors receive continuous updates on the impactful stories of the entrepreneurs they support through our digital platform, fostering a sense of connection and engagement with the community. This innovative approach not only addresses immediate needs but also promotes lasting, self-sustaining initiatives. We are looking for a passionate and experienced individual to join our team as a Head of Localization. This role provides a unique opportunity to significantly contribute to our mission while developing your professional skills in managing international partnerships, scaling operations, and adapting strategies across diverse regions and cultures.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic localization efforts to expand Bridging Gaps into new countries and regions.

  • Manage relationships with CBOs and NGO partners, ensuring alignment with our mission and goals.

  • Build and manage a global community of ambassadors to support local initiatives and foster engagement.

  • Oversee the localization of programs and resources, ensuring cultural relevance and effectiveness in each new region.

  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop strategies for scaling the organization globally.

  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and adapt our operations to fit the legal frameworks of new regions.

  • Monitor the success of regional projects and provide support where necessary to optimize impact.

  • Lead a team of passionate volunteers and ensure their continued success and engagement.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in localization, program management, or international partnerships.

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.

  • Experience with nonprofit or social enterprise work is a plus.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to scale projects and initiatives across regions.

  • High level of adaptability and problem-solving skills.

  • Prior experience working in an international environment, demonstrating adaptability and cultural sensitivity.

  • High level of integrity and dependability.

  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written, with the capacity to convey ideas clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.

  • Proficiency in German is a strong asset.
