About
Founded by Janina Peter and Malish James, Bridging Gaps introduced a pay-it-forward community microloan model to address food security and poverty among refugees. By merging charity and microfinance, we empower entrepreneurs and create sustainable financial structures. Our digital platform secures donations from Europe and the global north, transforming them into microloans that ripple through the community. Unlike traditional repayable microloans, our model is based on a pay-it-forward approach. As businesses thrive, loans are passed on to new entrepreneurs in the same community, creating a sustainable ripple effect of new initiatives and, long-term, new independent financial structures. Donors receive continuous updates on the impactful stories of the entrepreneurs they support through our digital platform, fostering a sense of connection and engagement with the community. This innovative approach not only addresses immediate needs but also promotes lasting, self-sustaining initiatives. We are looking for a passionate and experienced individual to join our team as the Head of Marketing & Communications. This role provides a unique opportunity to significantly contribute to our mission while developing your professional skills in leading content strategy, marketing initiatives, and comprehensive communications across various platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy for Bridging Gaps, including sourcing, creating, and organizing content across multiple channels.
- Work closely with partnerships managers and Ambassadors to stay informed about projects in different countries and integrate these insights into content plans.
- Create content briefs for local partner organizations to guide campaign planning, including guidelines for photos, quotes, and stories.
- Generate and develop ideas for campaigns across channels, such as team spotlights, informational content, and impact stories.
- Build and maintain an internal content organization system, including Google Drive folders and automation tools for content collection and management.
- Coordinate with marketing and Google Ads teams to align content with broader marketing strategies.
- Review and enhance existing content on our website and other platforms for improvement.
- Create and share engaging content across social media channels, with a focus on LinkedIn and Instagram, and explore new channels like TikTok and podcasts.
- Develop and distribute newsletters to stakeholders, write articles, press releases, and improve SEO for our website blog.
- Grow our following and engagement across all channels by applying best practices and researching trends.
- Lead a team of passionate volunteers and ensure their continued success and engagement.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Strong skills in content creation, campaign strategy, and digital engagement.
- Experience with social media management and content scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite).
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and content optimization techniques.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Passion for social impact and a commitment to our mission
- Prior experience working in an international environment, demonstrating adaptability and cultural sensitivity.
- High level of integrity and dependability.
