ORGANIZATION: Sanctuary Hospice

Sanctuary Hospice is dedicated to providing superior end-of-life care to all Veterans. All staff members are specifically trained to meet the unique needs of each Veteran and education training is regularly attended. We are looking for caring and compassionate Veterans to make friendly visits, reminisce with veteran hospice patients, engage in conversation, and provide companionship and socialization for our veterans in the Dayton and Cincinnati area.

Required to complete volunteer application, background check, TB testing, Drug Screening and training-all provided FREE of charge. Must be Covid vaccinated. Contact Maggie Penick, Volunteer Coordinator for details MaggiePenick@SanctuaryHospiceOH.com.

Sanctuary pledges to provide expert hospice care for the comfort and dignity of the terminally ill by addressing their individual physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Sanctuary Hospice serves as a resource to the community for end-of-life care and related issues and seeks to provide care for all appropriate patients and families who need hospice services regardless of ability to pay.

Description

Hospice Volunteers come from all walks of life, yet they all share a common desire-to enrich their own lives and the lives of others by giving generously of their time, energy and talents. Volunteers are an integral part of our hospice team. Once trained they may work in several areas: Administrative, Direct Patient Care Visitation for companionship and support, Bereavement support, Pet therapy, Music Therapy and many other Special Alternative Complementary services.
