Project Overview

To honor Hispanic Heritage Month and Oakland's vibrant Latine community, the Oakland Ed Fund is hosting the 10th Annual Latine/x Literature Week. This event celebrates the contributions of Latine authors, students, families, educators, and community members. Elementary schools are welcoming guest readers to share Latine stories with students. We invite volunteers to share their connection to Oakland and Latine literature. The Ed Fund will provide the books and handle event logistics.

About Oakland Public Education Fund

The Oakland Public Education Fund leads the development and investment of community resources in Oakland public schools so that all students can learn, grow, and thrive.

The Ed Fund is the only organization raising money for all Oakland public schools. Since 2003, we have helped raise over $200 million for schools and programs that help students thrive. We put the right tools in students’ hands to give all kids the excellent education they deserve. We support all Oakland public schools with a focus on those furthest from opportunity, because kids who come to school with less need more.
