About Cherie Blair Foundation for Women

Mission Statement
Our vision is a world where women have equal opportunities and the capability, confidence and capital necessary to establish and grow businesses, resulting in a brighter future for the women themselves and their communities as a whole.
Description
Based in London with a global reach, the Foundation is run by a dedicated team overseen by a board of trustees.
The charity was set up in 2008 in response to Cherie’s experiences meeting women around the world and the realisation that, with the right support, women can overcome the challenges they face and play an important part in the economies and societies in which they work and live.
Our mission is to provide women with the skills, technology, networks and access to capital that they need to become successful small and growing business owners, so that they can contribute to their economies and have a stronger voice in their societies.
Working in partnership with non-profit, private and public sector organisations, we develop projects with sustainable solutions to the challenges women entrepreneurs face through three programmes:
- Enterprise Development Programme
- Mentoring Women in Business Programme
- Mobile Technology Programme
We help fill the gap in the economy known as the 'missing middle’ - small and growing businesses. The women we work with have the potential to take the next step towards becoming successful entrepreneurs or are running small businesses that have already had some success but are struggling to sustain their position or expand. By focusing on the women who have already achieved a level of success, we’re helping women to create employment opportunities and contribute to their economies.
