Major healthcare organizations and universities studies about aging report that 1 out of 3 aging-in-place seniors feel isolated. Many seniors use or need caregivers, but caregivers often must spend much of their time fulfilling essential needs for seniors or juggle caregiving and working. Thus, many seniors feel isolated and caregivers feel stressed. The need for more senior and caregiver companionship is critical. Senior/Caregiver Companionship is a hybrid role to partcipate with seniors and caregivers for in-person companionship and virtual reminisce-based discussions. Senior/Caregiver Companions are not expected to provide basic necessities (like i.e., cleaning, bathing, meal prep, transportation). In-person activities (like i.e., reading to seniors or listening to audio books, partcipating in reminisce-based virtual meetings w/caregivers & seniors, etc.) are resourceful activities. Senior Companions are given a stipend for transportation and/or virtual meeting time. We look forward to hearing from you.
