Mesa Book Festival

This position is part of the Organizing committee for the Mesa Book Festival. Started in 2017, the Mesa Book Festival is a full day celebration of literary arts and reading with an open air event for 70+ authors, speakers and others.

Responsibilities

Vendor Recruitment: - Develop and implement strategies to attract a diverse range of vendors, including bookstores, publishers, merchandise sellers, and food vendors. - Create and distribute vendor application materials and information about the festival.

Application Management:

- Review and process vendor applications, ensuring that all required documentation and fees are submitted.
- Communicate with vendors to confirm participation, provide logistical details, and address any questions or concerns.

Space Allocation:

- Design and manage the layout of vendor spaces to ensure optimal flow and visibility.
- Assign booths or stalls to vendors based on their needs and preferences, while adhering to festival space constraints.

On-Site Coordination:

- Oversee the setup and breakdown of vendor booths or stalls before and after the festival.
- Serve as the primary contact for vendors during the event, addressing any issues or needs that arise.
- Ensure vendors comply with festival regulations and guidelines.

Vendor Support:
- Provide vendors with necessary information, such as event schedules, rules, and logistical details.
- Facilitate vendor needs, including special requests for equipment or accommodations.

Vendor Relations:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors to encourage future participation.
- Gather feedback from vendors post-festival to assess their experience and identify areas for improvement.

Reporting and Administration:

- Maintain accurate records of vendor applications, agreements, and payments.
- Prepare post-festival reports detailing vendor participation and feedback.

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in vendor management, event coordination, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of vendors and festival staff.
- Proficiency with standard office software and scheduling tools.
- Availability to work during the festival dates and for preparation leading up to the event.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and work for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry materials up to 15 pounds if needed.

Since 1994 Anthology has produced literally thousands of literary events, published over 10 years of literary journals and produced countless tremendous moments of excitement and fun.

Description

Anthology traces it's origins to 1990, when an ASU student started self publishing a digest poetry magazine. Since then, Anthology has become one of the largest literary nonprofits in Arizona, serving the greater Phoenix community through literary programs geared towards all ages and interests.
