Volunteer at CicLAvia -- Heart of LA to help create fun, safe car-free streets for the community!
Why: Ensure a safe and successful CicLAvia event for participants and the community.
Who: CicLAvia is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that catalyzes vibrant public spaces, active transportation, and good health through car-free streets. CicLAvia engages with people to transform our relationship with our communities and with each other.
What to Expect:
On October 13th, CicLAvia will close the streets of Boyle Heights, Chinatown, Downtown, Echo Park, and Little Tokyo to cars and open them up to the community to walk, bike, run, skate and play. For CicLAvia's 56th route, this free community festival offers an opportunity for attendees of all ages and abilities to explore 7.5 miles of car-free streets.
Volunteers are needed to:
Help with way-finding, slow zones and dismount areas
Provide participants with route and activity information
Sign people up for the CicLAvia mailing list and free drawing
Meet other volunteers who are passionate about Los Angeles and CicLAvia!
Free snacks for volunteers! Free lunch for those who sign up for 2+ shifts.
An exclusive CicLAvia volunteer t-shirt!
What's Required:
Minimum volunteer age is 14.
Volunteers under the age of 18 will need to bring and have signed by a parent/guardian a Volunteer Agreement & Release for Minors. The form can be found on L.A. Works website Q&A section.
Volunteer shift is outdoors, rain or shine.
Volunteers may be required to stand or walk for the duration of their shift.
Accessibility: The CicLAvia route, including all hubs, is completely ADA accessible. For ADA participants who wish to volunteer, let your on-site volunteer captain know if you will have any difficulty standing or walking during your shift so that they may accomodate.
Parking: CicLAvia does not provide or reimburse parking.

CicLAvia is a 501c3 non-profit that catalyzes vibrant public spaces, active transportation and good health through car-free street events. CicLAvia engages with people to positively transform our relationship with our communities and with each other. CicLAvia temporarily opens streets across Los Angeles county to all Angelenos to bike, walk, skate, dance, and play. Free to the public, the event turns the streets into a park space that connects diverse portions of the city.
Description
Whether you're 16 or 60, an individual or with a group, there are many ways for CicLAvia fans to donate a few hours to the event.
On the day of the event, enthusiastic supporters help:
-Provide participants with route and activity information
-manage participant traffic at crossing points and hubs
-sign participants up for the CicLAvia mailing list
