On October 11 and 12, 2024, the trails of The Wilderness Center will be transformed into The Enchanted Forest! Creating this one-of-a-kind, educational, and entertaining event is possible thanks to the time and talents of dozens of dedicated volunteers.

Volunteering as a "firefly" who helps escort families along the Enchanted Forest Trail is a great way to experience the magic. This popular role is fun to do with friends and family! Volunteers aged 12 - 14 need to have an adult that can volunteer with them. Anyone over 14 can volunteer as long as they feel confident to help.

On Friday, October 11 th, we’ll need fireflies from approximately 6:00 - 10:00 PM.

On Saturday, October 12 th, we’ll need fireflies from approximately 3:30 - 7:00 PM, and from 6:30 - 10:00.

All conservation organizations share the same basic mission. The Wilderness Center (TWC) is a cutting edge regional conservation/education organization that has planted itself firmly in the middle of the continuum. We offer 10+ miles of hiking trails, education opportunities for all ages, a natural burial cemetary, Foxfiled Preserve and TWC Consulting Forestry.

  • Fireflies should be prepared to walk the Enchanted Forest loop trail 3 - 4 times throughout their shift.
