Event Summary:
Heartland Animal Shelter is hosting our Golden Paw Gala Presented by Muller Auto Group for
more than 250 guests across Chicago’s North Shore community on Friday, November 1, 2024.
The spectacular night honoring Heartland’s life saving work will take place at Chevy Chase
Country Club in Wheeling and feature dinner, entertainment, an auction and raffle in support of
the nearly 1,000 dogs and cats that enter the shelter every year and are adopted out into our
community.

Event Set-Up (Shift 1)*** 2:45 p.m.-5:45 p.m.
Guest Check-In (Shift 2) 5:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
Greeters (Shift 2) 5:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
Raffle Ticket Sales** (Shift 2) 5:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m.
Auction Check-Out* (Shift 3) 9:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m.
Auction Item Runners (Shift 3) 9:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m.
Event Clean-Up (Shift 3) 9:30 p.m.-11:00 p.m.

*must be comfortable using computers and data systems
**must be comfortable approaching individuals to purchase items
***Two weeks prior to 11/1/24 the venue will notify us if we are able to begin set-up earlier than 3 p.m. All set-up volunteers will be notified and if you are able to start earlier please let us know.

General Volunteer Information
Attire: We ask that all volunteers wear black pants and black top or black dress. The guests’
dress code for the event is cocktail attire.

Food: All volunteers will be provided with food, snacks and beverages, available in the volunteer
room for the duration of the event.

Breaks: All volunteers may take (1) staggered 15 minute break during their shift or (2) staggered
15 minute breaks if they sign up for two shifts.

Personal Belongings: A secure volunteer room will be provided for volunteers to leave personal
belongings.

Parking: Complimentary self parking is available at the venue.
