We are seeking a Volunteer IT Specialist to design, build, and maintain the organization’s technology infrastructure, support day-to-day IT needs, and work on special projects to improve operational efficiency. This is an exciting opportunity to use your technical skills for a meaningful cause while gaining experience in the nonprofit sector.
Key Responsibilities
- IT Infrastructure Development: Design, develop, and implement IT systems to streamline nonprofit operations.
- System Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Provide ongoing support for existing IT systems, troubleshoot issues, and ensure network security.
- Tech Strategy and Innovation: Collaborate with leadership to identify technology needs, suggest improvements, and implement solutions to optimize workflows.
- Data Management and Security: Ensure proper data storage, backup, and security measures are in place to protect sensitive information.
- User Support and Training: Assist staff with technical issues and conduct training on new systems or tools.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in IT; in a start-up environment is a plus.
- Strong skills in systems development, software integration, and network management.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g. Google, Microsoft Azure)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, growing organization.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and fix IT issues promptly.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through on tasks

- Project Management: Experience managing IT projects from planning to execution.

Our service delivery model is executed through three programs:
- CWI: College Women Initiative (1st Generation College Women, ages 17-22)
- GEZ: Girls Empowerment Zone (ages 7-17)
- WEW: Women’s Empowerment Work (ageless)
We are seeking enthusiastic and passionate volunteers to join our team and help us make a meaningful impact. Volunteers will have the opportunity to contribute to various aspects of the organization based on their skills and interests, and to be part of a supportive, dynamic community.
