Event Overview:

OpenNLP Labs, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing linguistic diversity and inclusivity, is partnering with Visit.org to host a specialized corporate training course for WEX, a prominent commercial banking company with a global presence across the Americas and Europe. This event is part of WEX’s celebration of the European Day of Languages and will be attended by over 200 employees from various locations.

Roles & Responsibilities:

As a speaker, your role will be pivotal in shaping the content and delivery of our training. Your responsibilities include:

  1. Collaborative Content Development:

    • Join a one-hour meeting to work with our team on editing the slide deck and finalizing the presentation schedule.

    • Dedicate 1.5 hours to enhance the slide deck with research-based insights on linguistic diversity in the workplace, ensuring the content is both accurate and engaging.

    • Introduce a dedicated section in the presentation focused on the history and significance of the European Day of Languages.

  2. Research and Content Enrichment:

    • Integrate findings from reputable research papers in linguistics and anthropology to substantiate our training material.

    • Design interactive activities that promote linguistic diversity in the workplace, ensuring they are both educational and engaging.

  3. Presentation and Facilitation:

    • Lead the corporate training session, delivering the presentation and facilitating activities for the participants during the virtual event.

Skills Required:

To effectively contribute to this event, we are seeking individuals with:

  • A deep understanding of cultural linguistics and anthropology.

  • Ability to learn about European language diversity and its workplace implications.

  • Prior experience in developing interactive activities that foster engagement and learning.

Compensation:

For your contributions, we offer a compensation of $200 USD.

Important Dates & Deadlines:
  • TBD: Meet to discuss slides and activities - 1 hour

  • Monday, September 14, 2024: Submit the finalized presentation.

  • Thursday, September 26, 2024: Deliver the presentation from 7:30 AM to 9:15 AM PST.
