Volunteering Opportunity for "Contemporary Diplomacy"

We have just launched the development of our course "Contemporary Diplomacy" (part of "Political Science") and we are looking for individuals who are passionate about learning and helping others earn academic knowledge.

About the course:

This course looks at the academic perspective of Diplomacy; therefore, it’s not about teaching the student how to be a diplomat, but rather it highlights the characteristics of modern diplomacy. The 15-week course starts with some historical aspects of diplomacy that are still of interest today and continues with explaining the forms and practices and actors of modern diplomacy.

Due to the sensitive nature of the field of Politics in general, it is important to understand that this course does not examine contemporary case studies. This is to make sure that everyone feels welcome to work on and learn from our course, no matter their national or religious background.

About the placement

As a volunteer of PEOI’s course on Contemporary Diplomacy, your duties will be the following:

· Gathering sources for the author to write the text depending on the current needs and your interests;

· Gathering Creative Commons media files to be added to the course;

· Summarising and creating questions when a text is ready (only for volunteers who have completed advanced academic studies in Diplomacy);

· Communicating live or via PEOI’s forum with the author and other volunteers about the development of the course

This project mainly consists of online work, but you are free to look for sources at your academic or municipal library.
