Position Overview:
The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer Volunteer will be key in assessing and enhancing the effectiveness of the organization’s programs and initiatives. This role involves designing and implementing M&E frameworks, collecting and analyzing data, and providing insights to help guide strategic decisions. You will work closely with program managers and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are meeting their objectives and delivering impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- M&E Framework Development: Design and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks for programs and projects. Develop indicators, tools, and methodologies to assess program performance and outcomes.
- Data Collection: Oversee the collection of qualitative and quantitative data related to program activities and outcomes. Ensure data is accurate, timely, and relevant.
- Data Analysis: Analyze data to assess the effectiveness and impact of programs. Identify trends, challenges, and areas for improvement. Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Reporting: Create detailed M&E reports that highlight program achievements, challenges, and recommendations. Present findings to program managers, donors, and other stakeholders.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor program implementation to ensure adherence to M&E plans and standards. Conduct regular reviews and evaluations to assess progress towards goals.
- Capacity Building: Provide training and support to staff and partners on M&E practices and tools. Promote a culture of learning and accountability within the organization.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of M&E activities, including data, reports, and evaluations. Ensure that documentation is organized and accessible.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with program teams, donors, and other stakeholders to gather input and feedback on M&E processes and outcomes. Collaborate with external evaluators when necessary.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on best practices and trends in monitoring and evaluation. Recommend and implement improvements to enhance M&E practices and impact assessment.
Qualifications:
- Experience or coursework in monitoring and evaluation, research, statistics, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
- Strong understanding of M&E principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical software (e.g., Excel, SPSS, R) is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and effectively.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Commitment to supporting the organization’s mission and goals through effective monitoring and evaluation.
