- A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
We are partnering with local churches to offer respite relief for our caregivers while offering recreation and socialization to their loved ones!
We offer free training.
We will start in Ashland with a site at the United Presbyterian Congregational Church, which has generously donated its space for the program. We will need at least three people to run a shift from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The day is not set yet.
We will offer a pre-packaged meal at lunchtime. There will be opportunities to help with craft projects, play cards, read to seniors, play games, put together puzzles, or do crosswords or word finds. Some days may offer the opportunity to take the group for a walk or go on the bus to the movies or historical society. Simple but fun activities to pass the time and be social.
Call for more information about volunteering or if your church would like to be a new respite site. Talk to Laura or Jana - 715-682-4414

Mission Statement
It is our mission to help seniors to remain healthy while living independently in their own homes.
Description
The Ashland County Aging Unit, Inc. is a non-profit organization that assists seniors age 60 and over and their families in maintaining health, dignity, independence, and quality of life, by advocating, planning, coordinating, and delivering services and programs. There is an emphasis on meeting the needs of the socially and/or economically disadvantaged.
This allows older adults to sustain a quality of life that promotes longevity with comfort, independence, and maximum control over decisions that affect their lives. Services available include information and referral to appropriate agencies, advocacy, congregate and home-delivered meals, specialized transportation, benefit specialist services, counseling, senior home repair, and caregiver information and support. Although our programs are structured to help people 60 and older, our assistance is available to anyone, especially families, in search of help for an elderly person who is over 60 years old.
