ORGANIZATION: Kentucky Habitat for Humanity Inc

Event in partnership with additional organizations and non profits serving veterans at our local Veterans Park, 102 W. Oak St., in Somerset KY. Pulaski Co. HFH will be setting up a table with information about veterans suicide and giving out educational information, engaging veterans and honoring veterans on that day. This partnership with the Pulaski Co. Veterans Suicide Awareness Coalition which also puts on a Veterans Muster event during the year. We will partner with them to gain access to veterans and their contact information in order to provide additional information and assistance to the veterans and military personnel. There will also be a give away, prizes donated by local businesses for a drawing. We will also have free food. We estimate about 100+ attendees at the event. Pulaski Co.HFH will engage approximately 12-20 volunteers. We will serving meals to approximately 100 veterans.

Incorporated in November 1993, Kentucky Habitat for Humanity Inc. is the state organization providing support to a network of 31 Habitat affiliates in 49 counties throughout the Commonwealth. KyHFH's provides services in the following areas; Resource Development, Advocacy, Educational Learning and Technical Assistance and Disaster Preparedness and Long Term Recovery. To date, Habitat. has newly constructed, rehabbed and repaired 6,951 homes, housed a total of 27,808 Kentucky adults and children, provided over six-million service. hours to our volunteers and invested close to $200 million dollars in affordable housing throughout Kentucky. Habitat is not a free program. We provide a very affordable mortgage based upon a homeowners income and what they can afford. Habitat is a hand up, not a hand out.
