Position Title: Volunteer Recruiter

Location: Remote

Reports To: Sr. Operations Manager or Director of Services

Position hours: 2-5 hours a month

Role Overview:

The Volunteer Recruiter plays a pivotal role in driving the mission of Better Angels forward by identifying, engaging, and recruiting dedicated individuals to support our efforts in combating homelessness. This role requires a dynamic individual with a passion for recruiting and new building relationships. The Volunteer Recruiter will work closely with the Sr. Operations Manager to ensure that our volunteer base is diverse, enthusiastic, and aligned with our mission.

What You’ll Do

  • Recruitment Strategy Development:

    • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract volunteers from various backgrounds.

    • Identify and leverage different channels for volunteer recruitment, including social media, community events, and partnerships with local organizations.

  • Volunteer Recruitment:

    • Create compelling and accurate descriptions for volunteer roles and opportunities.

    • Screen and interview potential volunteers to ensure a good fit with the organization's needs and culture.

  • Outreach and Engagement:

    • Conduct outreach activities to engage potential volunteers and raise awareness about the organization’s mission.

    • Attend community events, job fairs, and networking functions to represent Better Angels and promote volunteer opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in recruitment, community outreach, or a related field is preferred.

  • Strong passion for addressing homelessness and a commitment to social justice.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to engage and motivate diverse groups of people.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with CRM or volunteer management software is a plus.

We offer local and at-home volunteering opportunities in Los Angeles county. Our opportunities include trash pick-up or reporting around local neighborhoods, advocating for ways to meet urgent needs (like bathrooms, storage, water, food and shelter) for people living outside, surveying and reporting housing your neighborhood wants, all software development (AWS application), communication and marketing support. Leadership roles are also available.
