Job Summary:

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented UI/UX Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing the user interface and experience of our mobile app, ensuring it is intuitive, engaging, and accessible to a wide audience. You will work closely with the Lead Mobile App Developer to bring your designs to life and ensure a seamless experience across iOS and Android platforms. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about design and eager to contribute to a mission-driven initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design the user interface and user experience for the Book Bytes mobile app, ensuring it is user-friendly and visually appealing.
• Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that clearly illustrate how the app functions and looks.
• Collaborate closely with the Lead Mobile App Developer to ensure designs are implemented accurately and effectively.
• Conduct user research and testing to gather feedback and improve the app’s design and functionality.
• Ensure the app’s design is consistent with our brand identity and resonates with our target audience.
• Optimize the app’s design for both iOS and Android platforms, considering platform-specific guidelines and best practices.
• Stay updated on the latest trends in UI/UX design and mobile app development to ensure the app remains modern and competitive.
• Provide regular updates to leadership on design progress and any challenges encountered.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing mobile app design work.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, or similar.
• Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and best practices, particularly for mobile applications.
• Experience with user research, testing, and applying feedback to improve designs.
• Ability to work independently and manage the full design lifecycle.
• Excellent attention to detail and creativity in problem-solving.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with developers and other team members.
• Passion for children’s literacy, education, and making a positive impact.
