Help A Woman With ALS Around The House & Yard (Danbury)
ORGANIZATION: The ALS Association: Wisconsin
Please visit the new page to apply.
A 67-year-old woman with ALS and her husband would love a volunteer to help them around the house with a variety of tasks, from cleaning, chores, and laundry to errands, yard work, or simply visiting. (Feel free to reach out if you are interested in any of these things: 1 person would not need to do them all!) As winter approaches, they would also be interested in a volunteer to assist with snow shoveling.
She is unable to speak due to her ALS, but communicates via an app on her iPad. Her husband spends a lot of time taking care of her tube feedings, medicine, and breathing therapies, so having a volunteer to pick up some of their daily household tasks would be a huge help.
Their schedule is quite flexible: any day of the week works in the morning, afternoon, or evening. They would ideally like a volunteer who is able to visit weekly for 1-2 hours.
If you have an extra hour or two each week to help some neighbors in need, we'd love to hear from you! This opportunity is part of the ALS Association's Family Assistance Program:
