Role Overview:

The Website Redesign Intern will assist with the redevelopment and enhancement of our nonprofit’s website. This role involves working closely with the web development team to implement design changes, optimize user experience, and ensure the website aligns with our organization's mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Website Analysis:

    • Review the current website to identify areas for improvement.

    • Research best practices in web design and user experience.

  2. Design and Development:

    • Assist in creating wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.

    • Contribute to the design and layout of website pages.

    • Help implement design changes using web development tools and platforms.

  3. Content Integration:

    • Collaborate with content creators to integrate text, images, and multimedia.

    • Ensure content is optimized for SEO and user engagement.

  4. Testing and Optimization:

    • Test website functionality across different devices and browsers.

    • Identify and troubleshoot issues related to design and user experience.

    • Assist in optimizing website performance and load times.

  5. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain documentation of design changes and development processes.

    • Report on progress and any challenges encountered.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Basic understanding of web design principles and tools

  • Familiarity with Wordpress

  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus.

  • Strong attention to detail and creativity.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Good communication skills and willingness to learn.

Description

The Knowledge Exchange is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that promotes educational equality by providing affordable tutoring and workshops to anyone in need.

We are a diverse group of professionals in many fields such as education, engineering, healthcare, business, and finance. We specialize in K-12 education (general and special ed), select college topics, college prep (applications and tests), and personal coaching (resume writing, taxes, personal finance, physical training). Guest instructors will also occasionally offer workshops to share their field of expertise.

To build a sense of community in our students, we also encourage all students to volunteer with their instructors in many volunteer events hosted either by The Knowledge Exchange, our partners, or our affiliates.
