ORGANIZATION: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

Seeking volunteers for the upcoming 2025 camping season. Must work together with other volunteers to manage and host the campground. Married couples preferred for the teamwork element. Volunteers must bring your own RV for lodging. Power, electricity and sewage hookups are provided.


The work of the host is mostly outdoors in the campground. Good social skills are vital since the host will be partnering with other volunteers to complete the task, as well as dealing with the general public and communicating with USACE staff. Each couple will work independently during their 3-4 day shift.


Duties include but not limited to the following:

•Tracking incoming reservations online- Recreation.gov and Posting paperwork at campsites

• Reporting issues to Ranger staff

• Basic site cleaning- blowing off debris and cleaning out fire pits and grills, as needed when sites are vacated

• Monitoring shower house & performing light cleaning 4 days per week/restocking paper products

• Light landscaping- weed eating site perimeters and light mowing select areas with zero-turn or self-propelled mower

• Emptying 6 refuse cans in the adjacent 11-site Primitive Campground once per each host cycle
