Position Overview

As a Full Stack Web Developer volunteer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing a website that mirrors the core functionalities of Fiverr. This includes user registration, profile creation, job postings, service listings, payment integrations, and more. You will work closely with our project manager and other team members to bring this vision to life.

Key Responsibilities

- Front-End Development:

- Develop a user-friendly and responsive front-end interface using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (React, Angular, or Vue.js).

- Implement user authentication, profile management, and service listing features.

- Ensure cross-browser compatibility and optimize the website for performance.

- Back-End Development:

- Design and implement a robust back-end using Node.js, Express.js, Django, Ruby on Rails, or similar frameworks.

- Create and manage databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB) to store user data, service listings, and transaction history.

- Integrate secure payment gateways to handle transactions.

- API Integration:

- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs to support the front-end functionalities.

- Implement third-party APIs where necessary, such as payment processors and communication tools.

- Testing and Debugging:

- Perform thorough testing of the application to identify and fix bugs.

- Conduct usability testing to ensure an intuitive user experience.

- Collaboration:

- Work closely with the project manager and other team members to align on project goals and timelines.

- Participate in regular team meetings and provide updates on progress.

Qualifications

- Proficiency in front-end technologies such as NextJS, React, Convex, Typescript, Tailwind CSS, ShadCN.

- Experience with database design and management (MySQL, MongoDB, etc.).

- Knowledge of RESTful API development and integration.

- Familiarity with payment gateway integration (e.g., PayPal, Stripe).

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Previous experience with similar projects or platform development is a plus.
